DESIGN&ELEKTRONIK-Developers’ Forum »HMI–Components & Solutions«
June 16, 2016 | Ramada Hotel Munich Messe
Call for Papers

Operate & visualize:
Technology, expertise and tools to design modern user interfaces

When the performance of different competing products becomes more and more alike, the concept and quality of a user interface are usually what decides whether to purchase or not. It's not only in consumer electronics but also in an industrial and professional environment that users judge electronic equipment for the most part subjectively by how to operate it. Structure and navigation strategy of an operating menu play a major role extra to hardware elements like display, touch technology and design.

So there's no getting away from a modern and well thought-out human/machine interface (HMI) in industrial and professional use too. But how can the developer create the right HMI? In past years the DESIGN&ELEKTRONIK developer forum HMI – Components & Solutions has offered valuable advice and assistance, from HMI conception through design to components and tools. On June 16, 2016 this highly successful event is set to be staged for the fifth time, presenting developers with all aspects in and around implementing the right HMI.

The papers at the development forums will be devoted to questions like:

  • What are the current technologies (summarized)? What can we look forward to in future?
  • Which strategies show the way to a coherent HMI/GUI concept?
  • What do examples of successfully implemented HMIs look like (best practice)?
  • Which tips and tricks really help when implementing an HMI?
  • How do I use virtual/augmented reality in an HMI?
  • Which software solutions are especially suitable for HMI design?
  • Is Android a genuine alternative for industrial applications?
  • Smartphone or tablet as a user interface?
  • Are smart watches like Apple Watch suitable as an HMI?
  • Keys or voice control (Siri, OK Google)?
  • Which is the right display technology? How large must a display be?
  • Touch yes – but how? Resistive, capacitive, inductive? Wearing gloves too?
  • Touch evaluation in a microcontroller or a separate touch IC?
  • Accelerometer sensors – the device itself as an HMI?
  • Gesture control also in 3D – what does that look like?
  • Which technologies are right for haptic feedback?

Extra to high-end displays with sophisticated touch solutions, the developers forum will present a variety of current technologies for man/machine interaction like keys, emergency off buttons, LEDs, warning lamps.

We are calling developers, technical experts and companies to contribute to this event with technical presentations. Please send us your abstracts on the listed subjects, but we are of course also very happy to accept any other suggestions that are providing technical information on the subject »HMI – Components & Solutions«.

Attract the attendees attention with your knowledge and expertise, make your company’s products known within a very focused audience – present a paper at the DESIGN&ELEKTRONIK Developers’ Forum »HMI – Components & Solutions«!

Please submit an abstract of your planned presentation via our online form before 19th January 2016!

A purely technical presentation of the paper is mandatory, marketing oriented abstracts will not be accepted.

We are looking forward to your interesting abstracts!
